PostHeaderIcon RB Mark Rodgers Set to Transfer

RB Mark Rodgers stated Wednesday, January 20, that it was time for him to leave and enroll into a school closer to home. The Lawndale California natives role was mainly used on special teams returning kickoffs, recording 619 yards on 27 returns.

Rodgers time in the backfield was limited while backing up West Virginia’s star Noel Devine. The sophomore’s offensive stats includes 7 carries for 9 yards and one reception for 4 yards.

Noel Devine’s and Jock Sanders’ decision to return for their senior was a big factor that triggered Rodgers to transfer, who didn’t want to waste another year of eligibility. Rodgers future will most likely take place at Portland State, the school who he passed up to attend WVU. Cal Poly is still an option for the 5″8 175 lb sophomore. As long as Rodgers chooses one of the two schools he will be automatically eligible for the next upcoming season as he is transferring to a lower division, the FCS.
