PostHeaderIcon Doron Lamb to Make College Decision at Jordan Brand Classic

Current unsigned five-star prospect Doron Lamb will make his college decision on April 17 at the Jordan Brand Classic in New York City. He wanted to make his decision in front of his family and friends, and what other place would be better than Madison Square Garden.

Lamb is a 6″4, 175 lb Qeens native who currently plays at Oak Hill (Va.) Academy and has narrowed his decision down to West Virginia, Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Connecticut. The McDonald’s All American guard stated that their is no favorite and that they are all on the same level. He has not yet made up his mind as he is still talking it over with his friends and family. His main concern seems to be playing time as he wants to spring into action right away his Freshman year. Kentucky has an advantage when it comes to this as they appear to be losing 5 of their players to the 2010 NBA Draft. Being closer to home is not a factor for him either as he wants what will fit best for him and his family.

Current West Virginia players may have an influence on Lamb as well. Darryl Bryant and Danny Jennings both played on Lamb’s AAU team, the New York Gauchos. He is also close with Kevin Jones and Devin Ebanks, both New York natives. Kemba Walker, however, also played on the New York Gauchos who Lamb is also very close with.

Doron Lamb is the #29 ranked player in the ESPNU top 100. There has been discussion that Josh Selby, the #5 ranked player in the ESPNU top 100, and Lamb may end up playing in college together which Lamb describes as being “something special.” Selby has plans to also announce his decision at the game, with West Virginia not being on his list. Only time will tell if these two young stars will teammate up in college which, in the best interest for West Virginia, hopefully will not happen.
